Financial technology (FinTech) provoked crucial changes in financial industry as a whole through digital transformation of, thus influencing the disintermediation of traditional financial institutions. FinTech lead to fast financial innovations in products (mobile financial services), processes (big data analytics, internet of things), organizations and business models (the use of virtual robots and cryptocurrencies). These in turn affected the financial institutions by requiring better and newer regulations, customer orientation and risk management improvements. The number of start-up companies is expected to grow further, while new types of funds and assets are expected to emerge . Finally, the management control systems require an innovative approach to accounting and auditing.
